Pilot program locations

The pilot sites for the QIADP program are Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton. The program will provide outreach services to nearby Indigenous communities of Yarrabah, Palm Island and Woorabinda, although the level of outreach will vary according to local circumstances. Service delivery is not planned for Palm Island in the initial phase of the program. Residents from Palm Island can participate in the criminal justice stream of the program if their matter is transferred to the Magistrates Court at Townsville.

There are a capped number of treatment places and supported accommodation places in each of these sites. The breakdown of treatment places between the Criminal Justice Stream and the Child Safety stream for each site and the supported accommodation that will be made available is as follows:

Townsville and Palm Island

Cairns and Yarrabah

Rockhampton and Woorabinda

Twenty per cent of the available treatment places at any one time will be allocated to clients referred by the Department of Child Safety.
